Rugged Wave antennas for mining communications and underground networks

Multi-polarized network antennas from MP Antenna are used in both above ground and underground mining operations. They reduce signal degradation and support consistent voice and data communications in any situation, including non-line-of-sight (NLOS) deployments. Rugged Wave™ Antennas

Rugged Wave antennas can withstand impacts from falling rocks and resist clouds of gas and dust. By contrast, standard dipole antennas may not be able to withstand dust, moisture, vibration, and impact. Multi-polarized antennas for mining applications send and receive signals in all polarizations, enabling reflected signals to become usable in NLOS situations.

Above Ground Antennas

Above ground antennas are used in surface mining operations where the soil and rock overlying the mineral deposit is removed. These surface antennas are also used at fixed assets such as mine headquarters, processing plants, and large dragline that are built on-site. In mining vehicles, above ground antennas may support asset management and monitoring.

Underground Antennas

Underground antennas are designed to overcome physical obstructions that can disrupt wireless paths and cause reflectivity, multi-path, absorption, and phasing. These mining network antennas support consistent communications and have a radiation pattern for the available space. For example, underground antennas that provide narrow beam-width coverage are a good choice for sending signals father down tunnels.

Two-Way Radio Antennas

Two-way radio antennas install in mining vehicles and machinery. They support communications not just with other mobile equipment, but also with base stations. Two-way radio antennas are surface-mounted, typically on a vehicle’s roof or dashboard. In mining communications, these land mobile radio antennas help users to communicate in remote areas and obstructed environments.

Other Mining Network Antennas

MP Antenna supplies multi-polarized mining antennas with different radiation patterns in the vertical and horizontal planes.

Directional antennas radiate in a single direction where typically higher gain is required.
Omnidirectional antennas radiate radio wave power uniformly in all directions in one plane.
Bidirectional antennas provide either front-and-rear or side-to-side coverage in one plane.
