Multi-polarized LMR antennas for two-way radio communications and public safety

Land mobile radio antennas are used by police and fire departments, emergency medical services (EMS), and other first responders. LMR antennas, as these wireless devices are also known, need to perform reliably in obstructed environments where non-line-of-sight (NLOS) communications are essential. Multi-polarized antennas from MP Antenna can overcome disturbances in line-of-sight (LOS) paths that cause reflectivity, multi-path, absorption, and phasing in other antennas. Unlike standard antennas then, MP Antenna’s multi-polarized solutions resist signal degradation and support consistent voice and data communications. Two-Way Radio Antennas

Two-way radio antennas are installed in vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances. These external wireless antennas cover a specific frequency or band and also vary in terms of dimensions. Whip antennas are longer and provide greater gain. Stubby antennas less intrusive, but their shorter profile may come at the expense of range. Helical antennas offer great range and coverage. They vary in length and are thicker.  

VHF and UHF Antennas

VHF and UHF antennas are land mobile radio antennas that transmit and receive in different ranges of frequencies. Very high frequency (VHF) signals send relatively large radio waves. Ultra-high frequency (UHF) signals travel on smaller waves that arrive closer together.  Broadband antennas and multiband antennas that combine different types of coverage within the same housing are also available.      

Public Safety Antennas

Public safety antennas are installed in emergency services vehicles so that first responders can receive information about and respond to emergencies as quickly as possible. Installation locations vary, and may include a vehicle’s roof, window, door or side. Cities, towns, and other municipalities that depend on wireless communications need land mobile radio antennas that work in all-weather conditions  

Public Safety Indoor Antennas

Public safety indoor antennas include both omni-directional and directional base station antennas. These LMR antennas can cover a single frequency band or multiple frequency bands and are specified by polarization, gain, power, and beam width. Although outdoor antennas usually provide better performance than indoor antennas, multi-polarized antennas from MP support NLOS communications.
